'Les Roches Marceau' is an ideal spot to get away from the stress of busy life to relax and unwind . It is a painter’s paradise and a haven of peace and tranquillity.

The forest offers a diversity of flora and fauna which is a joy to explore. Depending on the part of the Forest that you decide to visit (and the time of year), you may see carpets of bluebells, pink seas of heather, or bright yellow bursts of gorse flowers. Deers, wild boars, rabbits and over 200 species of birds are among some of the animals that you are likely to encounter. It covers an area of 28 000 hectares and has an extensive network of footpaths and bridle-ways which run throughout the Forest. You can explore these paths at your leisure and may walk on any footpath or track unless it says otherwise.

Fontainebleau is the Horse Capital of France there are international horse events which take place throughout the year, so for many, a trip to the Fontainebleau Forest would not be complete without going horseriding along some of the beautiful sandy allies and woodland tracks. There are many horseriding schools and stables in and around the Forest of Fontainebleau which offer riding to beginners and to experienced riders.
